Crypto payment checklist: match the wallet, asset, network and destination address
Crypto payment checklist: match the wallet, asset, network and destination address

The coin name is only part of a crypto payment. You also need the right network, the right destination and an account that can receive the transfer. This guide walks through those checks before you send anything. For a list tailored to your province, casino and asset, use our Before You Deposit tool. A successful blockchain transfer does not prove local authorization or guarantee a future payout.

Start with the wallet, asset and network

A wallet is software or hardware used to manage blockchain accounts and authorize transactions. In a self-custody wallet, you are responsible for the keys that control the funds. A custodial service manages those keys for you and adds its own account, withdrawal and security conditions.

The asset is what you send, such as BTC, ETH or a token. The network is the blockchain on which that transfer occurs. A token name alone is not enough: the sending and receiving services must support the same asset on the same network. Similar-looking addresses do not establish compatibility.

Before you press Send

1. Confirm Location and Account Eligibility

Check the operator’s current restricted locations, minimum age and identity requirements before considering a transfer. Use our Canadian province rules guide to find official local sources. Read the withdrawal conditions before depositing, including verification, limits and any deposit wagering rule.

For examples of how those checks differ by operator, read our Cloudbet review and 7Bit Casino review. Their payment sections connect network choices with account conditions; confirm the live cashier details separately.

2. Match the Asset and Exact Network

Open the receiving service’s current deposit instructions and compare them with the sending wallet or exchange. Match the coin or token and the named network. Do not choose a cheaper network merely because it appears in the sending service. If either side does not explicitly support the route, stop and ask for clarification through the official support channel.

3. Verify the Entire Receiving Address

Use the address supplied by the receiving service for that asset and network. Check the full address after pasting; malware or an incorrect copy can change the destination. Do not copy an address from an unsolicited message or transaction-history entry. If the receiving instructions require a memo or destination tag, include the exact required value.

4. Check Minimums, Fees and Conversion

Compare the transfer amount with the receiving minimum and account limits. A sending service may deduct a withdrawal fee, and a blockchain transfer may require a network fee. The amount credited can differ from the amount you entered. Check whether the service keeps a crypto balance or converts it to another currency, and how that affects later withdrawals.

5. Understand Confirmations and Credit Timing

A transaction being broadcast, confirmed on-chain and credited to a casino balance are different stages. The receiving service may wait for a stated number of confirmations and apply additional account checks. Do not rely on a universal “instant deposit” claim. Save the transaction identifier and compare its status with the receiving service’s published requirements.

Protect the Recovery Phrase

A self-custody wallet’s recovery phrase can restore access to its accounts. Anyone who obtains it may gain control of the funds. Keep it private, follow the wallet provider’s backup instructions, and do not send it to casino support, a supposed recovery agent or an affiliate. A deposit requires a receiving address; it does not require sharing your private keys.

Use the wallet provider’s official download source, keep software updated and read transaction requests before signing. Treat unexpected wallet-connection or token-approval requests cautiously. Account passwords and two-factor authentication protect service accounts, but they do not replace secure handling of a self-custody recovery phrase.

If a Deposit Does Not Appear

First compare the network, asset, destination and transaction identifier with the receiving instructions. Check whether the transaction is pending, confirmed or failed and whether the deposit minimum was met. Contact official support with the transaction identifier and relevant account details. Never supply a recovery phrase or pay an unsolicited “recovery” fee.

Do not send a second transfer just to fix the first. Some unsupported-network transfers cannot be recovered; others require assistance from the service controlling the receiving address. Recovery depends on the actual circumstances and is never guaranteed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Same Address Mean the Same Network?

No. Some compatible blockchain ecosystems use the same address format across several networks. Confirm the exact network supported by the receiving service; the visual appearance of an address is insufficient.

Is a Test Transfer Always Appropriate?

A small transfer can help confirm a route only when both services support it and the amount meets the receiving minimum. Fees, credit rules and account restrictions still apply. It does not establish the legality or reliability of a casino.

Can a Blockchain Transfer Be Reversed?

Do not count on a reversal. Once a transfer is confirmed, recovery generally depends on the recipient or the service controlling the destination. Check the asset-specific documentation before using cryptocurrency.
